We are 24 years into the century and yet we have seen dramatic events in such a short span like the Pandemic, Financial crisis, Hybrid wars, Cyber wars, Inflation, Terrorism, Climate Change, Smartphones, Cryptocurrency, Social Media, AI, YouTube etc. The list goes on and on. But we need to think collectively as a species for what our legacy should be.
What is something which will impact the future generations. Climate Change? Yeah I do agree, what else? Social Media and AI? Of course they do and they will continue to have a great influence on everyone.
Just think for a while whether these things will actually leave a lasting impact. Cuz what happens when two leaders snap and BOOM!!! everything’s gone. I KNOW countries have diplomatic ties and treaties to prevent this but let’s not forget that we are HUMANS (THE MOST DEADLY ANIMAL ON THE PLANET).
De-nuclearization is a beautiful term but Let’s be honest it is extremely hard to achieve. Look at Tyrannical countries like North Korea, Pakistan and others like them. Ruled by barbarians with their extreme ideologies these kind of countries will never give up their warheads. Just one nuclear missile will be more than enough to bring the world to a global nuclear war and all the efforts of evolution of our great ancestors for millions of years will be laid to waste in a single hour possibly.
Hold up, I have NOT yet reached to the LEGACY I was talking about. In the 20th century, Scientists were treated as Celebrities but now they have been put in a department called R & D so called the Research and Development Department where Private companies hire brilliant minds to work on the evolution of their Products and Services.
I am not against this but what I wanted to point out is that we NO LONGER have a common goal. Whenever we humans have a common goal, Historically we see that we have been successful. I SO STRONGLY BELIEVE that we must have a common goal to make humans a MULTIPLANETARY SPECIES.
We have two options frankly, either to be living as it is with fancy new GPT’s and Tik Tok’s and then suddenly one day a barbaric leader snaps and WE ARE DED.
ORRRRRR we all just make our mission to contribute in any way to help humans become a multiplanetary species. I have great respect for all who already believe in this and even more respect for the people who are working on it. Scientists, Engineers and Every single person in ISRO, NASA, ESA, Roscosmos, JAXA, CNSA, Elon, Jeff, Richard and all the other companies, even President Trump who actually created a Space Force branch. I truly believe these people are heroes.
Once we as a species stop expanding, we will self destruct ourselves as we have seen in countless incidents in history. The possibilities are endless in Space. By exploring space few barbaric religions believe we will be going against god by challenging nature. BUT they forget no one has put limits on us. WORKING HARD to build rockets or anything in science is a sign of our species intelligence which is a gift from god and I believe that we will be showing respect to the gods by taking such extreme risks in order to understand space and god himself.
So people like you and me if we just begin by supporting these people, policies and raise awareness, it is better than doing nothing.
Idk if you read till here, but If you did you are as much as a protector of humanity as the people I mentioned above. I or anyone cannot guarantee that once we become a multiplanetary species, wars or other tragedies won’t occur. What I believe is that we might have wars but at least we can go with a BIG BOOM instead of a small one. Sure it will take time and relentless efforts but we are HUMANS Afterall.
